Honored at 3rd Annual Mayoral Recognition Program
10,000 hours of community service and the recognition was part of the third annual Mayoral Recognition Program, which honors high school students who volunteer their time to contribute to the community.
Zeta Phi Beta Youth Archonettes
The high school girls kept the name of the Archonette Club, which accepts members who are in high school (ages 14-18)
Trio of Urbana High School
Trio creates and sustains a college-going culture in its target schools and areas, enhancing parents’ ability to prepare their children for college.

Designed and made jewlery that I sold online and at trade fairs for over 10 years.
Urbana High School’s girls’ wrestling team won the Pontiac Regional title in February 2025
One of the top placers who advanced to the Highland Sectional were Tauhnisjha Hart (2nd at 130 lbs), Tamya Terry (3rd at 135 lbs), Franciana Kalanga (3rd at 190 lbs), and Lillian Disanto (3rd at 235 lbs). The Urbana girls’ wrestling team brought home the program’s first-ever regional title.
Zeta Phi Beta Pearlettes
Young girls aged 4-8 who are mentored by members of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to become leaders in their communities. Tamya joined at the age of 4 years old.
This prestigious cotillion celebrates the accomplishments of young women as they transition into adulthood, emphasizing scholarship, character, and service. Throughout the program, participants engage in workshops on etiquette, leadership, and community involvement—all preparing them for success beyond high school.
